The Best Leather Shoes in SF. Over Martinis.

Until yesterday, your humble correspondent was convinced that Father’s Day was Sunday.

Maybe you’re like us, headed home, 3,000 miles away, a week too soon.

Maybe you actually know how to use a calendar, but still need a present.

Or maybe you’ve got it all together and just want a killer pair of shoes.

For the latter of those two situations, let us recommend Beneduci’s Hip Dads and Dudes: our favorite footwear brand’s Father’s Day shopping event, at their showroom in the Mission this Saturday afternoon.

Beneduci makes the city’s premier men’s shoes, handcrafted in San Francisco with top-flight Italian and American leather.

Three we like the cut of:

The Bowman (above): Your choice of high-polish black or distressed graphite means your choice of two totally different looks in the guise of a classic American workboot.

The Henry: Inspired by the safety boots of yore, the Henry mixes brogue detailing and a dual-layer sole with luxe Italian calfskin.

The Hunter: The standard chukka shape gets a high-end makeover with brass rivets and two-toned leathers, American calfskin and Italian nubuck.

This weekend, Beneduci will be showing off those and more at their new studio.

Designer Frank Beneduci will be there.

Also on hand: an S.F. mixologist sharing martini recipes, a local milliner and DJ Chas Gaudi on the decks.

We’d be there.

But we’ll be in New Jersey, observing the wrong holiday.
