The genius of the sommelier is the ability to suggest your new favorite wine — the one you don’t even know about yet. It’s a shame these masters of the vine tend to sequester themselves within high-end restaurants.

Thanks to Club W, they now make house calls.

A recently-launched, members-only delivery service, Club W is curated by former sommeliers from Per Se, Aureole, and The French Laundry — young, trend-savvy guys with a passion for helping you discover the next big varietal.

To benefit from their expertise, simply take a quick palate survey on ClubW.com, and the site will instantly suggest three lesser-known vintages. You can select from 3-20 bottles monthly, from boutique Napa merlots to undiscovered Paso Robles cabernets. Bottles are always $13, and shipping is free for your first order.

In an innovative digital twist, each bottle features a QR code. Photograph the code using your smartphone and you’ll be linked to a page with a detailed description of the wine, pairing suggestions, and a tutorial video by one of the site’s espertos nel vino.

Buyer beware: Club W only takes the headache out of buying wine. The one in the morning is on you.
