MoMA Summer Garden Concerts
Art, gardens, live music: it’s a stone-cold midsummer night’s killer. Established in ‘71, the MoMA presents world-class jazz and classical in the Sculpture Garden on a first come, first served basis. (Sundays, July 10 - 31)
Veuve Clicquot Polo Party
Yes, there is actual polo, plus a bottle of Veuve Rosé for every attendee and a special performance by Alicia Keys. A smashing good time. (June 3)

The U.S. Open
New York's best sporting event, bar none. Get grounds passes for the third or fourth round if you're a serious fan; seated tickets for a night session on Arthur Ashe if you're a first-timer who wants to see what it's all about. And with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal rolling back the years, we could be primed for one helluva second week. Get your tickets now and crisp the polos. (8/28 - 9/10)
Solid for a group or the whole fam, this festival features seven eco-friendly stages of music and entertainment on the waterfront. There are boats and rides plus all the artisanal food you shake a sunblock bottle at. Plus, it benefits a good cause. Everyone wins. (June 17 & 18)
Grab a bud and skate, run, walk or bike the length of the city unfettered by the imminent dangers of cabs and, ugh, stoplights. (August 5, 12 & 19)
Whatever you love about the outdoors, here you go.
Hudson River Blues and BBQ Fest
I don’t think anyone is really going to have to twist your arm for this one. All the BBQ and all the blues, staged on the waterfront and taking you from day into night. (August 19)
