Grab a Friend. Ural Just Debuted an All-Electric Sidecar Motorcycle.

We'll take one in knockout red, please

It’s hard to look cool while riding in a motorcycle sidecar.

The closest anyone’s ever come? Gotta head back to Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Recent developments, though, just might get the trend going. Ural, longtime Russian makers of clunky, reliable motorcycle sidecars, just debuted their prototype for an all-electric model clad in knockout red.

Built with a powertrain from Zero Motorcycle’s S/DS bike (yes, these guys) the motorcycle can travel over 100 miles on a full charge, with a top speed of 88-MPH. Sure, those stats are nothing to shout about, but considering this is a Ural and that cargo space can fit an extra battery, essentials or Sean Connery, it’s not too shabby. Besides, the design (which Ural consulted with California company IGC on) is decidely sexy. This is how you bring the sidecar into 2019 and beyond.

While it’s mainly a proof of concept vehicle at the moment — set to debut at the Progressive Motorcycle SHow in Long Beach — you can get on the waitlist for one of these bad boys here
