As we’ve pointed out in the past, there’s no greater indication a product has hit it big than the creation of a Chinese knockoff version of said product, service or art.
After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Given the looks of a trailer for a film called Mad Shelia, we’d say George Miller, Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy and the rest of the crew behind Mad Max: Fury Road should feel flattered indeed. In the preview for the knockoff Chinese movie — which even includes appropriately bad English subtitles — a young lady we presume to be Sheila does her best Max Rockatansky impression.
It’s a despicably blatant ripoff to its very core.
That we would 100% watch if presented with the opportunity.
