Your fall/winter coat isn’t doing its job. Well, jobs. Plural.

Based on where you are and what you’re doing, your seasonal jacket’s gotta keep you dry and warm without making you look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Enter Tekkima, an up-and-coming menswear brand that targets both outdoorsy types and city folk with minimalist, lightweight and stylish jackets with some serious tech savvy.

Estonian for “the act of arising, emerging, and coming into being,” Tekkima recently launched the Navigator, a waxed-cotton field jacket that acts like modern-day take on the classic British coat used by explorers, hunters and soldiers.

A 100% wax cotton twill shell with a polyester taffeta lining, it’s certainly not puffy: folded, the jacket is about the size of a large laptop sleeve. While wearing it, it looked pretty damn svelte (especially in black, and the waist-cinching drawstrings helped).

The very light, water-resistant Navigator features an adjustable hood, five exterior pockets (zippered and buttoned), two interior pouch pockets and one “itinerary” pocket. So storage isn’t a problem here.

Neither is surviving the elements. Like all of Tekkima’s coats, it’s great for layering: throw it over a T-shirt on a rainy fall afternoon hike or add atop a sweater for more frigid days in the city — you’ll be fine either way.

Prefer a different silhouette? The company just intro’d a striped bomber jacket called the Cascade that’s waterproof and equally great for layering, as well one of the most refined fleece hoodies we’ve ever seen. Oh, and Prevail, a three-season jacket that transforms from a parka to a vest with a few zipper moves.

So, you’re covered (or not) for pretty much anything the seasons throw at you.
