Most who use navigation apps switch off the sound. You have to. They’re intrusive. They mess with your playlist. And worst of all, they’re mirthless.
But millennial favorite Waze has introduced moments of self-effacing levity that separate it from the more monotone automatons of the wayfinding game. First they enlisted former cyborg/governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to lend his voice to your car stereo. Then they got diminutive funnyman Kevin Hart.
And now they’re calling in new Late Show host Stephen Colbert.
Like all great things, it’ll be short-lived: you’ve got from now until September 22nd for Colbert to deliver your own personal report. To get it, update your Waze app and then manually toggle through the settings to select his voice.
