Welcome to InsideHook’s Staff Picks, a compendium of what our editors are digging recently. This week, it’s all of our favorite green things.

Boosted Plus
Of course, any neighborhood longboard comprised of plywood and trucks is “greener” than one with a motor. Kick, push. But if you’re going to zip up a 25% hill grade at 22-MPH, you’ll need a little firepower. Boosted is 2012 LeBron’ing the e-transport, “last mile” game right now, with a line of four-wheeled commuters that will save you from adding to the monthly Uber tally, or having to crowd into a sardine-packed subway. These boards travel up to 14 miles on an hour and forty-five minute charge, are surprisingly handsome and ride easy. Just stand on the thing and press down on a Bluetooth-paired remote to move forward … you won’t get mistaken for Tony Hawk, but you won’t be late, either.  — Tanner Garrity, Associate Editor

Powerbeats3
love Bang & Olufsen’s racing green E8 wireless earbuds, but good luck finding that limited-edition release anymore. Alternatively, use these, at least at the gym: Featuring secure-fit ear hooks (so they’ll stay in place during a workout), these ‘beats are sweat- and water-resistant, plus they’ll get an hour of playback on just a five-minute charge (or 12 hours on a full charge). They’re currently $90, or 55% off, so you’re certainly saving some, um, green. — Kirk Miller, Nation Editor/Managing Editor

Todd Snyder + Champion Terry Pocket Sweatshirt and Terry Slim Jogger Sweatpant in Surf Green
How about this St. Paddy’s Day, instead of going out to bars and getting drunk as a skunk that just lost his kids in an excruciatingly painful year-long custody battle (skunks are terrible fathers, everyone knows that), you just behave like a normal adult and, I don’t know, sit on the couch and get drunk while watching Game of Thrones reruns in preparation of the new season. This is a more self-referential Staff Picks than anything else, so bear with me. While staying in I’d prefer to be comfy but also still look cool and wear green so I can appear like “the man” to the delivery guy (very important for me). I will forever be an evangelist of the Todd Snyder and Champion collab because it’s amazing and this matching crew neck and joggers in “surf green” will easily get the comfy and cool job done. And this way if I end up falling prey to the siren song of idiots puking their brains out at the nearest Irish pub, at least I’ll look like a mobster no one wants to mess with. Aicok Slow Masticating Juicer
Everyone has little grudges they hold onto from random articles they read years ago (right?). Mine is from a minimalist home makeover feature where the writer said something to the effect of: “I threw out my juicer and you should too. Who are we kidding? No one uses these.” Um, I do, multiple times a week for two years. And you’d be a lot healthier if you did, too. This one’s masticating, which is better than centrifugal. It’s super easy to clean. And it squeezes all the healthy goodness out of fruits and vegetables alike. I’m a big apple, lemon and ginger fan myself. — Alex Lauer, Senior Editor

Plants for Beginners by The Sill
There are many ways to kill a houseplant: overwatering, underwatering, negligence, incompetence, petting it too hard. Not killing a houseplant is a tougher proposition, and one that our former deputy editor wrote a comprehensive guide to last year. But before you even get that far, minimize your legwork by investing in low-maintenance plants like pothos, ZZs and philodendrons. And because it’s 2019, there are websites like The Sill that will have any of those plants en route to your door about five minutes from now. — Walker Loetscher, Editor in Chief

Primitive x Rick and Morty “Pickle Rick” Coffee Mug
If you don’t already know why this mug is awesome, here’s what you gotta do — go get yourself some of my other favorite green thing, watch this, and then get back to me. — Danny Agnew, Creative Director

Philadelphia Eagles NFL Jersey
It was Christmas 2016 and I was gifted a Philadelphia Eagles Bennie Logan jersey. Admittingly, not because I was a die-hard fan of the defensive tackle, but because we shared the same name. Then a few months later he left to go play with the Chiefs, so I guess it’s good we didn’t develop any long term feelings. That jersey has seen many losses. Many, many — and I can’t stress this enough — many losses. But it also saw the greatest win perhaps of its lifetime (and mine). It was 2018 and the Eagles beat those bum-ass Patriots and Tom Brady to win their first ever Super Bowl. That jersey partied on Broad street all night while people climbed polls and screamed Meek Mill’s Dreams and Nightmares. Granted, it might never see a night like that again, but that’s alright cause we’ll always have Super Bowl LII. — Logan Mahan, Editorial Intern

Filson Ballistic Nylon Dryden Briefcase
As you will no doubt recall, I just wrote about these sweet green Old-Skool vans in this space a few weeks ago. I am also currently wearing an entirely different pair of green vans. And I also own this pair of green AJ1s, of which I am quite fond, despite the fact that our CEO’s teenaged daughter, upon seeing a photo of me wearing them, said she didn’t think anyone over 35 could pull them off. All of this is to say that I will stay away from sneakers this week and instead go to bat for my Filson Ballistic Nylon Dryden Briefcase in, yes, green. It’s got many of the same features as the more iconic Rugged Twill Original Briefcase — laptop sleeve, heavy-duty zippers, lots of internal pockets — but it’s lighter and more abrasion resistant. It’s also… not the exact same bag everyone else has. Also, green. — Mike Conklin, Executive Editor
