How about this St. Paddy’s Day, instead of going out to bars and getting drunk as a skunk that just lost his kids in an excruciatingly painful year-long custody battle (skunks are terrible fathers, everyone knows that), you just behave like a normal adult and, I don’t know, sit on the couch and get drunk while watching Game of Thrones reruns in preparation of the new season. This is a more self-referential Staff Picks than anything else, so bear with me. While staying in I’d prefer to be comfy but also still look cool and wear green so I can appear like “the man” to the delivery guy (very important for me). I will forever be an evangelist of the Todd Snyder and Champion collab because it’s amazing and this matching crew neck and joggers in “surf green” will easily get the comfy and cool job done. And this way if I end up falling prey to the siren song of idiots puking their brains out at the nearest Irish pub, at least I’ll look like a mobster no one wants to mess with. Everyone has little grudges they hold onto from random articles they read years ago (right?). Mine is from a minimalist home makeover feature where the writer said something to the effect of: “I threw out my juicer and you should too. Who are we kidding? No one uses these.” Um, I do, multiple times a week for two years. And you’d be a lot healthier if you did, too. This one’s masticating, which is better than centrifugal. It’s super easy to clean. Philadelphia Eagles NFL Jersey
It was Christmas 2016 and I was gifted a Philadelphia Eagles Bennie Logan jersey. Admittingly, not because I was a die-hard fan of the defensive tackle, but because we shared the same name. Then a few months later he left to go play with the Chiefs, so I guess it’s good we didn’t develop any long term feelings. That jersey has seen many losses. Many, many — and I can’t stress this enough — many losses. But it also saw the greatest win perhaps of its lifetime (and mine). It was 2018 and the Eagles beat those bum-ass Patriots and Tom Brady to win their first ever Super Bowl. That jersey partied on Broad street all night while people climbed polls and screamed Meek Mill’s Dreams and Nightmares. Granted, it might never see a night like that again, but that’s alright cause we’ll always have Super Bowl LII. — Logan Mahan, Editorial Intern
Filson Ballistic Nylon Dryden Briefcase
As you will no doubt recall, I just wrote about these sweet green Old-Skool vans in this space a few weeks ago. I am also currently wearing an entirely different pair of green vans. And I also own this pair of green AJ1s, of which I am quite fond, despite the fact that our CEO’s teenaged daughter, upon seeing a photo of me wearing them, said she didn’t think anyone over 35 could pull them off. All of this is to say that I will stay away from sneakers this week and instead go to bat for my Filson Ballistic Nylon Dryden Briefcase in, yes, green. It’s got many of the same features as the more iconic Rugged Twill Original Briefcase — laptop sleeve, heavy-duty zippers, lots of internal pockets — but it’s lighter and more abrasion resistant.
