If music, as a wise man once said, is the space between the notes, we’d opine that the universe is the space between the stars.
But appreciating the space between is not an easy task, so luxury resort operator Soneva just installed a brand-new Meade 3D telescope at its flagship resort in the Baa Atoll of the Maldives, making it the world’s premier destination for astronomy tourism. Installed by Australian astro-consulting company Inspiring Skies and equipped with Lederman Optical Array 3D technology, the new telescope in the observatory at Soneva Fushi invites amateur stargazers to get up close and personal with hallowed celestial objects.
“This new technology will help revolutionize how we offer astronomy experiences to guests, as it gives depth of field to what people see while looking through the telescope,” said Inspiring Skies CEO Mike Dalley. “It means that, for example, while looking at an open cluster, some stars will appear closer while others further away.”
