Watch a 12-Year-Old Seth Rogen Perform His First Stand-Up Set

Wanna hear a good Jewish summer camp joke?

“I woulda prom’d Seth Rogen so hard.”

Overheard by an anonymous IH staffer after she watched this video.

Before breaking out as the star of some of Judd Apatow’s best work and going on to become one of the funniest men in Hollywood, Seth Rogen was just a kid in Vancouver who liked stand-up comedy. The video above is supposedly his very first performance on the stage in 1994 and — judging from the baggy-ass Stussy T-shirt young Seth is rocking over a long sleeve — that seems accurate.

According to the YouTuber who posted it, the performance took place at a lesbian bar in Vancouver called The Lotus. Rogen apparently thought it was Ladies’ Night (suuure).

The material itself is solid for any first-timer, not to mention a 12-year-old kid. Rogen’s signature weed, dick and fart jokes are absent, but he does have some great takes on age-appropriate topics like his grandparents and attending Jewish summer camp. (“It’s a camp … for Jews.”)

Not quite Eddie Murphy Raw, but a prom-worthy performance nonetheless.
