While it won’t reveal much about what did or did not happen between Leo and that grizzly, a new documentary about the making of The Revenant does shed a little light onto what went down while the gritty picture was being made.

Eliot Rausch‘s A World Unseen peels back the curtain on director Alejandro González Iñárritu and crew’s grueling shoot, from fight through delays to confronting the elements to DiCaprio’s choice to eat raw animal organs to preserve the realism of a scene. Yummy.

Featuring interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and plenty of material from the actual film, the 45-minute doc is a worthwhile watch. Also, for the record, the bear “spent a lot of time rolling around with Leo” but “it was all consensual.”
