This Watch Was Forged From Old Train Tracks, and There Are Just 15 of Them

19th-century Canadian Pacific Railway steel, not Amtrak

Ideally, we can use our past to build our future.

NOVO watch takes that sentiment literally.

The Canadian company runs under this mission statement: To “repurpose historical materials into handmade timepieces.” A mantra exemplified nicely by their new Dowlais 1884 Edition, a manually-wound watch forged of reclaimed steel from the Canadian Pacific Railway train tracks in their hometown of Lethbridge, Alberta.

These rugged tickers are built by hand, individually numbered, and feature white hour/minute hands and a separate red seconds hand. They’re water resistant to 5ATM and utilize both Hermann Oak leather straps and packaging made from reclaimed barn wood.

Consider it a handsomely historical reminder of our continent’s industrial past. But time moves quickly: Only 15 are available, all for around $2,600.
