The commissioned portrait: once the distinguished purview of landed gentry, now sadly relegated to holiday photo cards — because your family’s matching Christmas sweaters say a lot of things, and none of them are “gravitas.”

So stand tall. Straighten your tie. And turn to the bespoke portraitists of Fabulous Noble.

Fabulous NobleFrom two British creative directors obsessed with “portraying an entire personality in a single piece of art,” Noble pairs patrons seeking portraits with some of the world’s leading illustrators and graphic artists.

Read: no oil paintings here. Think instead: digital artists who’ve illustrated DC Comics and Harper’s Bazaar, designed album covers for Iggy Pop, and created vector graphics for Aston Martin.

To get started, simply peruse the FN site for an artist you like, submit a photo and then fill out a questionnaire that susses your personality traits and portrait wishlist (format, color palette, etc.).

Your info is then submitted to your hand-picked artist to complete.

Most pieces start at $1000, with a turnaround time of two to three weeks. Which is just more time to choose where your legacy will hang.
