Hoping to retain as much of its old-world charm as possible, Milan — the second-largest city in Italy — is eradicating behavior it deems to be “antisocial.”
Among the list of items that will soon be prohibited within city limits: selfie sticks, food trucks and glass bottles.
According to the letter of the law, tourists and residents are forbidden from “holding, carrying, leaving on the ground, disposing of, or receiving any kind of glass bottles or containers, cans, and selfie sticks,” The Local reports. Under the ban, firecrackers and fireworks are also illegal.
The ban, which is already in effect and will remain in place until August 13th with the possibility of an extension, should make the city substantially cleaner and dramatically cut down on accidental eye pokings.
