Is This the Most Organized Travel Bag Ever?

Wolecraft: Makers of impossibly clever leather bags

Until we achieve (nerd alert) a state of dimensional transcendentalism — aka creating something bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, Mary Poppins style — we have a luggage problem:

Too much stuff, too little bag.

Potential solution? Wolecraft, makers of fine leather gear that’s purposely “stylish, affordable and modular.”

Their new Byron carry-all is the closest thing we’ve seen to that magical satchel.

Wolecraft’s cases feature a handsome, rugged mix of textiles: supple veg-tanned leather, heavy-duty wool and weather-resistant cotton canvas. And they all feature ridiculous levels of organization and flexibility, be it phone or tablet cases, passport holders, key sheaths, pouches or the coolest backpack/messenger bag hybrid we’ve seen in some time.

Their newest product, currently exceeding its Kickstarter goal — said Byron — is a two-in-one leather carryall with a magnetic spine that allows for modular inserts to store your phone, tablet, cards, sunglasses, passport, cash and cords. The inserts also act as their own, smaller bags: you can take them out and use them as day vessels according to your travel needs.

The two inserts:

The Travel Insert: Features a diagonal cut on the right side for storing small items

The Everyday Insert: Has a pouch for your passport, cards and cash, plus a YKK Excella zippered pocket and a strap to attach smaller tablets and laptops.

Each bag and insert comes in light brown, dark brown (“cigar”) and blue-green (“river”). And for the next few days, the bags will be going for just $175 via Kickstarter, including one insert (regular retail is closer to $300). They’re expected to ship out in September.

We’re happy to wait.
