This Kevlar Raft Packs Down to the Size of a Paper Towel Roll

Apparently we don't need a bigger boat after all

Anyone who’s ever played The Oregon Trail knows that river crossings present a very unique and difficult decision.

Should you attempt to ford the river, or caulk the wagon and float it?

Trick question. None of the above. At least not when you’re packing an inflatable raft that takes up less space than a leg of bison.

It’s called the Rogue Packraft from Kokopelli, and at five pounds, it’s probably the most compact personal watercraft your hard-earned ducats can buy.

Just launched on Kickstarter, the Rogue pairs the inherent convenience of a packable raft with modern functionality and thoughtful durability. It’s equally portable buried in your backpack on a hike or hanging off your mountain bike’s handlebars, and thanks to a double-reinforced exterior and Kevlar-studded floor, it can capably handle all manner of lake, pond and stream.

A full Rogue set includes a breakdown paddle, inflatable seat and inflation bag, among other features. And there’s enough storage space inside the vessel for gear and a couple cold ones.

Check out their campaign, help them reach their goal and start planning that trip to Big Sky Country.
