These Stranger Things Recipes Will Make Your Stomach Turn Upside Down This Halloween

Barb onion soup? Demogorgon pie? It’s Halloween du jour!

Just in time for your 2016 Halloween menu preparation, Netflix’s Kitchen division releases two Stranger Things-inspired recipes: Demogorgon Pie and our choice, because we love it, French onion soup à la Barb

You remember Barb. She was the ’80s-est character on this ’80s-est of shows. Give her a couple years and she would have been in an East German punk band. We believed in Barb. Until the Demogorgon ate her and snakes (or whatever) exited her face through her mouth. Barb was toast.

Or, shall we sayBarb was soup. French onion soup. The full recipes, for both Barb soup and Demogorgon pie, are on their respective video’s YouTube pages; follow along to see how to do it. Even if you can’t keep up with the steps, the video shows clearly how to create a screaming head from your favorite dough products and then how to blowtorch melted cheese all over it — a useful skill for loads of home gatherings. If “blowtorch, dough, and cheese” isn’t the definition of American fondue, we don’t know what is.

By the way, if you’re wondering about those lovely tattooed arms preparing the soup, they belong to baker, reality show champion, and model Ashley Holt, who you may remember as the winner of the third edition of TLC’s Next Great Baker. See more of her work here
