Jim Beam Made a Voice-Activated Bottle That Pours Shots

Too bad it only serves Jim Beam

Internet trolls may take offense, but the folks at Jim Beam are considerably forward-thinking. For proof, just look to the whiskey label’s genius (albeit gimmicky) bourbon-pouring virtual assistant.

A cheeky competitor to the ever-growing range of tabletop assistant offerings from Amazon and Google, JIM is being touted as “the world’s first smart decanter.” Fully voice activated, the JIM decanter can pour a shot on command once its bourbon storage compartment has been filled.

The first generation decanter-turned virtual voice assistant is voiced by 7th generation master distiller Fred Noe and even has 3G capabilities.

“Unlike other smart home devices, JIM not only answers life’s most important questions, but also offers groundbreaking shot pouring functionality that allows legal drinking age consumers to serve up a drink from the comfort of their couch,” according to the release about the gizmo.

Priced at only $35, the unit is temporarily out of stock but Beam says to check back soon for JIM to return.
