When Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, is in the mood for a little “Rocket Man,” he doesn’t cue up Sir Elton John.

He calls on Yves Rossy of the Jetman Dubai team and asks him to do stuff like this:

A Swiss military-trained pilot with a penchant for jetpacks, Rossy and two other “Jetmen” recently completed a mission with the Patrouille de France (the French Blue Angels).

As you’ve probably guessed, they were not inside the planes while taking part in said mission.

During the unprecedented display of aerial choreography, Rossy, Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen flew alongside eight Patrouille at close to 170 MPH at an altitude of nearly 40,000 feet and, according to Fugen, the jetpackers got to within 16 feet of the high-powered jets at times.

“We trained with the helicopter from which we jumped,” Fugen told Red Bull. “The biggest difference with the Patrouille de France was the speed. We didn’t have much of a margin: we were going quite fast, and they were at a very slow speed compared to what they can go up to.”

Don’t act like you’re not impressed.
