If You’ve Ever Been Scared of Falling Off a Water Slide, Look Away Now

It is terrifying

We’ve all been there: coming around a big bend on a water slide, wondering: What if?

What if this water slide were somehow … not up to snuff? What if the amateur ride engineer who assembled the slide at his “private home” didn’t quite get the job done? What if, in the words of one unlucky water slide victim, you’re just “too dang old to be going down water slides”?

What happens? This happens.

David Salmon was whooshing down a buddy’s water slide near Austin, TX, when our collective worst water-slide fears were realized: He hurtled right over the edge of the tube and tumbled down an embankment (or as he put it, “a rocky cliff”). He’ll survive, with a broken arm, fractured ribs, and a body’s worth of bruises — as well as bragging rights on Facebook, along with a couple very appropriate hashtags: #notdead and #videofail.
