Dutch brothers Paul and Tino Huet love fast cars and classic watches.

Ten years ago, the duo made their name with the Huet Experience, which were driving tours across Europe in which participants had the chance to get behind the wheel of their bespoke HB Special — an old-school racer made from a “modern carbon fiber composite [shell] mounted to a modified chassis from a ’70s-era British Triumph TR6 roadster.” (It looks like the vintage car of your dreams.)

Ultimately, the pair produced a limited run of the HB Special, at $107,000 for the fully-loaded version. A reasonable sum for those in the know.

Now, a daily driver-friendly HB Coupe prototype is on the way, but to get there, the pair need help; and that help is best rendered via Kickstarter, through the purchase of their HB Benefactor Chronograph 2018. In this situation, you are the titular benefactor.

The watch is Swiss made, with “concepts from already-made HB cars.” It’ll be available in two sizes, 40mm and 42.5mm. You’ll choose between two straps: the Classic’s dark brown leather, and the Sport model’s black strap with red accents.

And just in case you forgot that the purchase of this watch will in part fund the production of a car, each watch will have a steering wheel engraved on the back.

Unfortunately, the entry-level $335 Kickstarter buy-in includes just the watch, not the car. But you will “get access to the membership area of our site and follow the complete build of the HB Coupe.” Basically the same, right?
