Have a pleasant stay

No matter how you slice it, dealing with a divorce, amicable or not, is tough.

Which is why to make the lives of potential guests a bit easier during hard times, Sweden’s Countryside Hotels is offering couples who get divorced within a year of their stay at one of their properties, the hotel chain will refund the un-newlyweds up to a two-night stay.

To qualify for the offer, couples must already be married, stay in the same room and mention the “relationship guarantee” during the booking process. To get the refund, court documents proving the divorce must be presented.

Although Sweden only ranks 20th-worst in the world for divorce, Countryside believes the program will provide a stress-free way for couples that are on the brink to mend fences.

“We have welcomed couples to our hotels and mansions and seen how beneficial it can be to get away for a while and devote time to each other,” Countryside marketing officer Anna Madsen told The Local. “We have decided to take a radical approach and hope it will make more people understand how important it is to invest in your relationship in time.”

If you book a stay, you may want to draw up a prenup about that refund.
