It’s a Backpack. It’s a Drybag. It’s a Why Hasn’t This Been Invented Yet?

Keep your gadgets, clothes and, ahem, medications dry

Let’s say you’re kite-surfing in the Calamian Islands and you catch a stiff breeze that plants you far away from your starting point.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have some dry food, drinking water, a change of undies and some Tylenol? Wouldn’t it be nice to have the peace of mind that your room key and wallet aren’t hanging out on the beach ready for the taking?

That’s where Helixot’s Waterproof Backpack comes in handy. Provided it gets funded on Kickstarter, this ergonomic backpack is 100 percent waterproof thanks to its nautical fabric, welded seams and screw-cap closing mechanism.

The neoprene padding used on the back, armbands and waistband is comfy and easy to dry. But it’s how it’s contoured to your spine and how it distributes weight at the top that keeps your lower back protected, particularly when you’re surfing.

Just looking at it, we’re thinking of a paddleboarding safari along the California coast, putting in at Cayucos and paddling north to Cambria, stopping in hidden coves along the way, with a compact bag’s worth of supplies at hand should hunger, weather or an emergency strike.

The sky’s the limit.

Well, or the ocean, in this case.

For about $110, you can get in on the early bird and have it by May 2017.
