See life any way you want to.
That's pretty much the promise of GoPro's Fusion, a new 5.2K spherical camera announced back in April that can capture fully immersive virtual reality content, non-VR video and photos. And thanks to that 360-degree spherical camera, youll never have to worry about framing the subject of your photos again — you'll be pretty much capturing every angle simultaneously.
"Users will be able to record their moments in all directions and then go back and choose the composition they want," says GoPro Senior Product Manager Jess Foley, who calls this process OverCapture. It's basically like fixing it in post.
Other details — like price, software and launch date — are yet to be revealed. But if you want to try Fusion sooner than later, you'll want to join GoPro's pilot program (go here) which will roll out this summer for "professional content creators."
The commercial release is schedule for later this year. In the meantime, the company has debuted the camera at the Mountain Games this week, and the tech site Engadget is taking it out for a spin — check that out here.
