This Modern Land Cruiser Is Brought to You by an Older, Rustier Land Cruiser

A better restoration job, you will not find

Nostalgia is a powerful thing.

Take, for example, this Toyota FJ45LV Land Cruiser, dutifully restored by the Miami-based FJ Company. Does it not make you feel … something?

If you’re not familiar with the 40 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, know it’s the stuff of legends. Boxy, dependable and iconic, it’s one of Toyota’s most successful ventures.

True to this particular car is it’s one of the rare breeds in its class, with only 5,000 makes total and 1,000 left-hand drivers beyond that.

When it fell in the hands of the master restorers, the Cruiser was rusted through and through yet still retained many of its original parts from the engine to the transmission.

The wrenchers set to work giving it a comprehensive makeover with no nut or bolt left unturned. And they finished her off in an easy-on-the-eyes Capri blue and white two-tone polish. On the inside, she’s been given a fresh buttery gray and gentle sky blue upholstery job.

They’re not the only company out there bringing life back to old Land Cruisers (see also: 4×4 Icon) but damn if this isn’t one of the prettiest restoration jobs we’ve ever seen.
