Filson’s Smokey Bear Watch Collection Is, Dare We Say It, Fire

Better yet, it comes with a bandana

The world was first introduced to Smokey Bear in 1944. He was a smug cub who wore blue jeans with a belt and buckle and wore a ranger hat with the name “Smokey” on it. And more often than not, he carried around a shovel.

If he had the chance to sport a watch made by Filson, our guess is he’d wear that, too.

Now he can. The Seattle-based outdoor brand’s latest collection has been created to honor the animal, the myth, the legend: Smokey Bear himself.

The line comes with all kinds of additional goodies. First, there’s the individually numbered Smokey Bear watch, assembled in Detroit at the Shinola watch factory, featuring a stainless-steel case and a leather strap. As you might guess, the inscription on the watch face reads “only you can prevent wildfires.”

The bundle also includes a Smokey Bear bandana, a Smokey Bear t-shirt, Pendleton wool blanket, powder-coated water bottle and Smokey Bear cap. Plus: six postcards of reimagined vintage Smokey posters.

And oddly, no lighter.

A portion of the proceeds for this nice little package goes to wildfire prevention education.

All of which makes it the perfect gift for the outdoorsmen in your life. Or just keep it for yourself. By the way, only 1,000 were made.

Get ’em while they’re hot.
