I don’t wear loafers. But I respect a man who does.

Even the most simple loafer can be ostentatious. It’s one of those style choices that naturally draws attention to its wearer, and lets everyone know he’s not running anywhere anytime soon. Loafers are certainly no choice for sport, so adding a few, shall we say, embellishments is encouraged.

Which makes for head-turning footwear.

If you’d like to see what I mean, look no further than Duke & Dexter. For their autumn collection, the young British brand have mixed and remixed colors and textures to create a line that’s anything but traditional.

You’ve got burgundy leather with an embossed python effect. Nubuck with rubber for a metallic effect. Exaggerated military camo. Suede of all colors. All of which are handmade in England.

And yet, there’s something still undeniably classic about the kicks. But I suppose that the beauty of loafers. They’re almost casual, always stylish.

Head on over to Duke & Dexter to check out the full collection.
