These Filson x Danner Boots Will Probably Last Till Your Grandson’s Grandson

Two titans of rugged Americana team up on a banger

In 1967, Seattle native Jimi Hendrix posed the question, “Are you experienced?”

Five decades later, a pair of rugged, made-in-America manufacturers who also hail from the Pacific Northwest — Danner and Filson — have teamed up on a boot that responds with a resounding “Yes.”

A collaboration with more than 200 years of expertise ingrained in its sole, the Filson x Danner Grouse boot was inspired by traditional hunting gear worn in the region. Made in the USA, the limited-edition boot pairs full-grain leather from Portland-based Danner with Seattle-based Filson’s highly durable waxed Tin Cloth to create a waterproof upper like no other.

Also featuring Danner’s stitchdown construction, Gore-Tex lining and a Vibram Sierra outsole, the eight-inch tall Grouse boots are limited to a run of 375 pairs priced at $390 apiece.

“Due to our deeply similar history and a continued dedication to producing the best quality gear, the collaboration between Filson and Danner is an obvious fit, with Danner being the true experts in footwear built for the field,” says Filson marketing director Andreas Herr.

In addition to qualifying for free shipping and returns, the boots are eligible to have their soles replaced, leather reworked and seams re-stitched as part of Danner’s Boot Recrafting service.

But given both brands have a stellar rep for high-quality, super-durable products, we doubt you’ll have to use it.
