Awful Cooks, Your Prayers Have Been Answered

New smart induction cooktop makes it almost too easy

Something’s gone wrong in the kitchen, and you just can’t figure out what happened.

Chances are it wasn’t in the prep, or the recipe. More commonly for the rookie home cook, disaster strikes when they apply heat. You know, when the actual cooking goes down.

Maybe you stirred too much. Maybe you overcrowded the pan. Perhaps you overcooked the meal, or worse, undercooked it.

A German company called Cuciniale is here to change all that by introducing an intelligent cooking system designed to do all the cooking for you.

At least that’s the promise. The system includes an app-controlled cooktop and a probe sensor, allowing amateur chefs to cook without any guesswork. The system can sense weight, size and structure, and adjust heat and cooking times accordingly.

That data is then transmitted to a dedicated app which lets users select the kind of meat they’re frying up and how they want it prepared. It also includes step-by-step recipes and instructs users when to, say, flip a steak.

All this said, talent in the kitchen still matters. At best, the cook system is best thought of as culinary training wheels for kitchen intuition. Half the joy of cooking, after all, is utilizing that sixth sense. It’s what seperates … well, a human from a robot.

The Cucinale system is currently on Kickstarter. Check out the video below.
