The Secret Beers of Your Favorite Craft Breweries, Delivered

CraftX reimagines the beer-of-the-month club

June 7, 2017 9:00 am

The best beer you’ll ever try comes from a brewery’s tasting room.

There, you’ll find not only the freshest brews, but all the brewmaster’s most daring sours, lagers and saisons. The stuff so bold you’ll wonder why you can’t get it at home.

Which is where CraftX steps in.

Just launched, they send 12 cans of obscurely brilliant craft beer direct to your door every month.

All fresh. All tasty. And best of all, all unavailable to the general public.

The membership focuses on two small-batch breweries each month, with four styles of beer to choose from in total. During last month’s launch, we tried Enegren and Latitude 33, two Cali brewers who are doing some wildly interesting flavor profiles. In particular, the former’s The Big Meat is a beechwood-smoked doppelbock that’d fit perfectly into any summer BBQ, while L33’s Syndicate Saison has an added twist of rhubarb and basil (it works).

Currently CraftX is available as a three-month plan for $40/month, with additional boxes available outside of the membership coming soon. The service is available in 38 states and Washington, D.C. Members can stick with a standard split of three beers of each style or customize up to a 5-1 split, per brewery, based on their own preference.

Shipping happens the first Monday of the month. Your brew will arrive fresh (canned in the last seven days) with tasting notes, a brewer’s bio and this (not quite correct, misattributed and yet perfect) quote by Abraham Lincoln embossed inside CraftX’s sturdy, recyclable delivery box:

“I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer.”

Yes we can.
