Bose is the gold standard of headphones. Which means, sadly, they’re rarely on sale.
But that changes this year.
A quick background: Master & Dynamic might be my current favorite headphones, but I still own and cherish a Bose noise-cancelling set that was received as a gift 7 or 8 years ago from my parents, who repeatedly told me I better enjoy them because they were, well, darn expensive (the ‘rents don’t swear, which is admirable and a trait that wasn’t passed down).
I’ve kept those — replacing a frayed cord just last year — and also purchased Bose’s improved and updated QuietComfort 35 (Series II), which take the noise-cancelling aspect I love and makes it wireless ... and also makes the noise reduction adjustable so you can leak in a little outside noise, if needed.
(They also add Alexa voice control, which I’ve rarely used. It’s a perk if you want it to be.)
The set, which can hit up to 20 hours of playtime between charges — or 40 if you prefer to use the included cable and go old-school wired — is now $50 off, the lowest price we’ve seen by Amazon and just $5 more than the lowest price we’ve ever witnessed.
Bonus: While, we haven’t tried ‘em, the Bose’s SoundSport wireless earbuds are also currently $30 off.
Overall, everything’s still a bit pricey, but remember: These are gonna be with you a long time.
