This Emergency Beacon Keeps You Connected When You’re Lost in the Woods

Nothing beats a good S.O.S. selfie

The deeper you go into the woods, the faster your cell batteries deplete. That’s because they have to work harder to find a signal. SurviVolts, a portable powerpack, aims to solve that riddle with a 5,000 mAh lithium-ion battery.

But this isn’t your average backcountry charger. The device also includes a 130 Lumen flashlight, a 150 lumen strobe light, a 135bB siren and 5mW laser — all great for emergencies. Think of it as a Swiss Army knife for the digitally proficient outdoorsman. Best part? Every piece of it is modular, so you can configure it to suit whatever needs are at hand.

SurviVolts is made by Seattle Sports Co. and debuted at Outdoor Retailer last week, but you’ll have to wait until early 2017 to buy it.
