A Solar-Powered Wifi-Having Beach Umbrella Because 2017

Throw shade from all sides

If you’ve been to your dermatologist lately, they probably mentioned the rise in skin cancer that can be linked to environmental factors (like the rays of the sun). And men are at twice the risk than women of developing fatal skin cancer.  So while a good sunscreen will go a long way to keeping those harmful UVs at bay, adding extra shade, like umbrellas at the beach, helps even further.

But so far we don’t know of anything like the Sunflower by ShadeCraft. This soon-to-market solar-powered design changes shape and follows the sun like a sunflower would. Also charges your phone and has wifi, because of course.

It also has an additional security camera in case you end up wandering a little further from basecamp than you intend.

It protects itself, too, by changing shape to withstand the wind, and it has a microphone that allows you to shout commands. It’s Bluetooth-enabled, can store 70 hours of energy and can determine the air quality (suppose that comes in handy if you’re on the fence about packing up?).

All of this data can be viewed on ShadeCraft’s app. They’re taking pre-orders now, with delivery set for 2018.
