American Airlines to Offer Free Booze on Domestic Flights

At least on new “Shuttle” trips between Chicago and NYC

If there’s one thing New Yorkers and Chicagoans can agree on, it’s free booze.

And if there’s one time you need them to play nicely with each other, it’s on an airplane.

Ergo, starting on April 4th, American Airlines will begin offering complimentary beer and wine on new “Shuttle” service flights between LaGuardia O’Hare.

Targeted at business travelers, Shuttle flights will be offered 15 times per day during the week, with dedicated gates operating at each airport to ensure consistency and convenience. American already offers Shuttle flights between O’Hare and Boston’s Logan International Airport and Ronald Reagan in D.C., but it’s unclear if those flights will be upgraded with free booze too.

“When you fly frequently for work, anything that can make the regular commute more comfortable is important,” said American sales SVP Alison Taylor. “That’s why we’re pleased to offer valuable time-saving opportunities with our Shuttle, including a convenient and consistent schedule and extended check-in times for you and your bag.”
