Enjoy the Scottish Highlands From a Submarine-Inspired Airbnb

The AirShip has all the views, none of the wifi

Sure, submarines are cool, but the views leave a lot to be desired.

Thankfully, the AirShip 002 —a submarine-inspired home ensconced on a four-acre property in the Scottish Highlands — offers visual amenities you can’t find underwater, including plenty of natural light and a clear view across the surrounding waters. Bonus, you can safely go outside.

This insulated aluminum pod, designed by Roderick James Architects and currently listed on Airbnb, features a galley-like kitchen/saloon, outdoor balcony, indoor fireplace … and absolutely no TV or wifi.

And that’s because you’re here to take a break from the outside world. You can start by sitting by the floor-to-ceiling windows across the east and west wings, casting your eyes out across the Sound of Mull and reflecting quietly, whisky tumbler in hand.

Much like a submarine, nobody’s gonna bother you: You’re about eight miles from the closest town.

The AirShip 002 is available now for $199 per night. Then, continue on your themed land-sea global odyssey and stay at a shipwreck-inspired hut.
