If looking at an SUV equipped with a 2500cc engine, five-speed transmission and ready-to-rock camping trailer gives you the sudden urge to drop everything and go full Kerouac — don’t worry. It happens to a lot of us.

The beatific vision in question: a Land Rover Series III Adventuremobile that’s been retrofitted with full Defender TDI specs. The maker says one in four of the original Series III are still on the road, which is exactly where this one’s headed.

Hiding underneath one of the most iconic silhouettes the automotive industry has ever known: Four disc brakes. A five-speed gear box. Heavy duty differential gearing and wheels. And, of course, Land Rover’s (literally) groundbreaking power steering capabilities and a full camping trailer that includes an elevated tent with ladder access. And on the hubs of both trailer and truck: BF Goodrich Mud Mk2 tires that can crawl through just about any terrain you lay in front of ‘em.

Better get a doctor’s note ready.
