5 Swanky Airbnbs for Your Inaugural Canadian Cannabis Pilgrimage

Canada's now legal. Here's where to go and what to know.

October 22, 2018 9:00 am

You’ve probably heard the news: somewhere up in Canada, an uprooted farmhouse just crushed the wicked lawmaker of the north and everyone’s now tap-dancing down a yellow brick road lined with cannabis. (Although if you’ve seen all that with your own eyes, you might wanna take it easy on your new privileges, friend.)

In more literal speak: the sale of marijuana was officially legalized last week in Canada. The people wanted it, the experts are predicting it could be a $4B business and you, intrepid traveler, predictably have some questions. We could give you an exhaustive rundown of the rules and regulations, province by province, but where’s the fun in that? You should go see the scene for yourself, and what better way to prepare than booking yourself a swanky little Airbnb.

These homes, disclaimer, aren’t explicitly meant for spreading out in the grass and waxing on our first president’s smoking habits and how Martha was a “hip, hip, hip lady, man.” Those seeking dawn to dusk discussions on aliens should probably just book a room through Bud & Breakfast

But these five spots are perfect for a weekend that’ll mix a little casual toking with hikes, museums and the like. They tout terraces and backyards. Their windows come with views. Each of them (even those within the cities) is a bit out of the way, lending some privacy to your partaking.

And of course, we’ve included with each the what-to-know on prohibited areas, volume allowances — the works. Alright, alright, alright.
