It’s easier said than done, but in life, a man’s gotta know his limits.

Realizing this, an elderly gent, bless his heart, opted to make the ultimate sacrifice so someone else could enjoy what he no longer could … by putting his ‘52 Jaguar XK120 Roadster up for sale.

With just a tick more than 40,000 miles on the odometer, the vintage XK120 is still in pristine condition, and its black body and burgundy red leather interior still look as good as new.

Called “a pure driver’s car” by its original owner, the two-seat roadster underwent thorough technical maintenance almost 10 years ago and now has modern brakes as well as a tuned-up six-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 162 HP under its gleaming hood.

Being offered up by Prins Classics, the XK120 is priced at $137,747, and that number ain’t falling.

“This astonishing Jaguar XK120 Roadster from 1952 is a magical car with a mesmerizing load of British charisma,” according to Prins. “It knows how to amaze the admirers of classic cars.”

Hats off to that — which is exactly where they’ll be once you open her up on the highway with the top dropped.
