A single “barn find” — aka a valuable car that’s been forgotten in a barn/garage/otherwise dilapidated structure somewhere — is considered a major win in the motor world.
So discovering that — oops! — you have 12 highly coveted classic rides stowed away in your castle is pretty much the Holy Grail.
That just happened, and they’re going to auction at Bonhams’ Spa Classic in Belgium this May.
Among the lot is a ‘58 Mercedes-Benz 300Sl Roadster — a make that is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and represents arguably one of the most desirable post-war cars out there. Another king among kings: the 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, the last of the marque’s 40/50hp models. Quiet and smooth, it’s essentially the Phantom I with perks.
On the slightly more contemporary end, you’ve got a four-seat GT Espada, which is about as “family-oriented” as Italians get with their 155 mph supercars. Ferruccio Lamborghini referred to it as his “Rolls-Royce.” And if it’s speed you seek, two 4.9-Liter Maseratis were also uncovered from the Swiss schloss: an Indy America and a Ghibli SS, the latter of which is the fastest road car ever produced by Maserati, topping out at 174 mph.

Polishing out the lot: a 1921 Rolls-Royce 40/50hp Silver Ghost Double Phaëton (not yet listed), an Aston Martin Volante (the fastest soft top of its time), an ‘81 Mercedes-Benz 500 SLC Coupé, a ‘73 Ford Mustang, a 1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2, a ‘67 Maserati Series II Quattroporte and a 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 V12.
