The Only Way to See Duran Duran

A VIP experience with the iconic pop group

An unforgettable night hanging out with Duran Duran…

Or, as we call it, Monday. As in, last Monday, when the iconic pop group headlined a private show for American Express members at NYC’s Terminal 5.

The show? Great. The insider perks? Spectacular.

Touring in support of its just-released album Paper Gods (produced by Mark Ronson and Nile Rodgers, among others), D2 mixed in new tracks with fan faves like “Rio,” “Ordinary World” and “Notorious.” For a band that’s been releasing records since 1981, the guys seemed re-energized and in fantastic shape — especially the shimmery Simon Le Bon. That man does not age.

Given the NYC locale, the band wisely snuck in their (vastly underappreciated) cover of “White Lines,” here acting as an homage to Bronx hip-hop legends Grandmaster Melle Mel and Grandmaster Flash.

Musical highlight? Gonna have to go with “Save a Prayer” … because nobody does moody synth-pop balladry like Duran Duran.

The real perks, however, arrived before the show, when concertgoers with VIP By Invitation Only (BIO) event tickets met the band, took photos and were able to hang out on the second floor of the venue all night with cocktails and perfect sightlines for the show. Afterwards, everyone got an autographed copy of Paper Gods.

BIO is an exclusive benefit available to all American Express Platinum Card members. Need a great date idea on short notice? Clients in town? Trying to impress the in-laws. BIO’s got your back.

It’s worth the price of admssion, trust.
