From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in L.A. is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.

When it comes to going out about town, everybody always wants to go to the “new” place.

The new restaurant, or bar, or club.

The problem: those places rarely feel lived in.

Instead, they feel plastic. Put on. Like a stage set.

Well, we don’t need more of those in L.A.

So today, we’re happy to recommend two recently opened establishments that offer a warm and homely vibe.

Like they’ve been here for awhile.

One restaurant and one bar — close to each other — that make the perfect pair for a night out.

The first stop is a new California-French brasserie that plates steak with herbed marrow butter alongside exceptional cocktails.

The second stop: a new watering hole that’s hiding in plain sight on Fairfax.

Bon appétit.
