In the world of luxury automobiles, Ferraris stand out for a host of reasons, from performance to design. The LaFerrari represented a further honing of that aesthetic — essentially, the grand cru of luxury automobiles. Between 2013 and 2016, just 499 were made — and they were only offered to prospective buyers who already owned at least five Ferraris. And now, one of these is going up for sale.

If this was merely one of 499 cars, that would be occasion enough for Ferrari aficionados to take note. But, as Fred Smith at Road & Track reports, there are a few other factors that make this car especially rarefied in the world of Ferraris. First and foremost, it has under 1,000 miles on it; it’s also the only one of the group of 499 that has its particular color scheme. Its exterior is a deep purple known as Vinaccia, while its interior is Pelle Chiodi Di Garofano, a shade of brown. Smith notes that both are allusions to other Ferraris owned by the first person to purchase this LaFerrari.

As for its performance, there’s plenty to savor here, including a V-12 engine and an electric motor that combine for 949 hp. It’s capable of going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.4 seconds, and clocked a quarter mile at 9.7 seconds, reaching a speed of 149.2 miles per hour.

The auction is slated to take place on November 6 at RM Sotheby’s. Road & Track‘s article mentions that other LaFerraris that have sold at auction have done so for $5 million to $10 million — so adjust your expectations accordingly.
