If you’re a fan of the acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos, it’s a good time to do a deep dive into the show’s history and inner working. Last year saw the release of the book The Sopranos Sessions by Alan Sepinwall and Matt Zoller Seitz, which offered an in-depth analysis of the show on an episode-by-episode basis — including new interviews with series creator David Chase.

Chase isn’t the only Sopranos alumnus revisiting just what made the show so compelling. Actors Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa — aka Christopher Moltisanti and Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri — are set to host a new podcast, Talking Sopranos, which will debut in April.

At Deadline, Anthony D’Alessandro has more details about the new podcast.

This podcast will follow The Sopranos series episode by episode providing inside info, behind the scenes stories and little-known facts that could only come from those on the inside. The close friends will also share candid conversations about working in the entertainment industry.

Given that Imperioli acted on the show, along with writing and producing some episodes, he’s in a unique position to comment on the show’s history and production.

In the trailer for the podcast, Imperioli mentions that he hasn’t watched the show since it first aired — meaning he’ll be coming to some of the episodes with fresh eyes. The two actors also suggest that they’ll have interviews with some behind-the-scenes personnel, from episode directors to location managers.

Given the way that Sopranos fandom has grown over the years, it’s pretty clear that there’s an audience for this. It won’t be the only high-profile debut of something related to The Sopranos this year: Chase’s forthcoming prequel to the show is also due out later in 2020.
