It’s the end of an era: as Vulture reports, Conan, Conan O’Brien’s late-night talk show on TBS, will end its decade-long run in June 2021.

Between his 10 years hosting Conan, his 16 years on NBC as the host of Late Night With Conan O’Brien and his notoriously short stint hosting The Tonight Show, O’Brien has spent 27 years hosting nightly late-night programs. In 2019, he revealed a reworked format of Conan, cutting it down to a half-hour.

But all is not lost for Conan fans. The host will continue his remote travel specials for TBS, and he has signed on to host a new weekly variety show on HBO Max as part of his deal with Warner Media.

“In 1993 Johnny Carson gave me the best advice of my career: ‘As soon as possible, get to a streaming platform,’” O’Brien said in the press release. “I’m thrilled that I get to continue doing whatever the hell it is I do on HBO Max, and I look forward to a free subscription.”

“Conan’s unique brand of energetic, relatable, and at times, absurdist comedy has charmed late-night audiences for nearly three decades,” HBO executive Casey Bloys added. “We can’t wait to see what he and the rest of Team Coco will dream up for this brand new variety format each week.”
