Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo may not have been a household name at the beginning of the NBA All-Star Break, though he just took a massive leap toward that status by winning the 2019 Slam Dunk Contest. But to do it, he needed the help of NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal.

Diallo asked the former Lakers and Heat center to act as a human hurdle for his final dunk. At 6’5″, Diallo needed to pull off a giant leap to clear Shaq’s hulking 7’1″ frame (though Shaw did helpfully duck a little). But the Thunder guard didn’t merely clear Shaq’s head and shoulders, he soared above him and threw down a tremendous dunk that went up to his elbow. And then to emphasize the superstar status of his flight, Diallo, while still hanging with this forearm in the basket, pulled open a velcro seam in his jersey to reveal the Superman logo.
