Coming off a season that saw him notch his first major win in more than a decade, Tiger Woods has announced he will be writing his first-ever memoir and that HarperCollins Publishers will be releasing it.

Billed as “the first and only account directly from Woods, with the full cooperation of his friends, family, and inner circle,” BACK will cover the 43-year-old’s rise from a golfing prodigy to a global icon.

The book will also cover Woods’ battle with “devastating injuries and personal issues” as well as his inspiring win at the 2019 Masters.

“I’ve been in the spotlight for a long time, and because of that, there have been books and articles and TV shows about me, most filled with errors, speculative and wrong,” Woods said. “This book is my definitive story. It’s in my words and expresses my thoughts. It describes how I feel and what’s happened in my life. I’ve been working at it steadily, and I’m looking forward to continuing the process and creating a book that people will want to read.”

Woods has not played since the BMW Championship in August and recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

He’s slated to return to the links next week in Japan during a skins game with Rory McIlroy, Jason Day and Hideki Matsuyama.

The book will be published across all HarperCollins locations worldwide, but a release date has not been set at this time.
