Winless after being outscored by a combined 102-1o margin over two games against the Ravens and Patriots, the Miami Dolphins appear to have a legit shot at going 0-16 this season.

Vegas oddsmakers seem to agree, as the Dolphins are now getting as much as 21 points at some sportsbooks for their upcoming game in Dallas against the Cowboys in Week 3. That comes on the heels of Miami getting 19 points against the Patriots – and failing to cover by more than double that amount during yesterday’s 43-o loss.

Despite the huge pregame odds, bets still poured in on the Patriots as 82.9 percent of the money wagered on the point spread at Caesars Sportsbooks was on New England, according to ESPN. With that being the case, oddsmakers have to adjust how they set lines to avoid losing big.

“The spreads are obnoxious,” Las Vegas veteran oddsmaker Ed Salmons of the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook said Sunday night. “It’s like I’m looking at college [football]. I have a feeling that people are going to keep betting against [the Dolphins]. It’s not going to stop. I mean, what can you do? There’s nothing you can do. You just make high numbers.”

On the other end of the NFL betting spectrum, New England opened as 17.5-point favorites over the New York Jets for their home game in Week 3.
