Report: NFL Insider Josina Anderson Finished at ESPN

Josina Anderson, who was named ESPN’s first female national NFL insider in 2015, is reportedly finished at the network.

According to The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, the veteran reporter is “out” at ESPN and it has nothing to do with the “cutting of personnel related to the coronavirus’ economic impact on Disney and ESPN.”

The move is not a surprise as it has been rumored since February that Marchand and The Worldwide Leader were headed for a break-up due to some ups and downs in the past year. Anderson had an exclusive interview with Antonio Brown that aired over Super Bowl weekend, but also had some regrettable tweets — that proved to be untrue—about Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph grabbing Myles Garrett by the crotch during their on-field fight in November.

A native of Washington D.C., Anderson was a weekend sports co-anchor/reporter/producer for FOX 31 in Denver prior to joining ESPN and she should have no problem finding another job, perhaps at a rival broadcaster like Fox Sports or NBC.

Anderson’s role at ESPN will reportedly be filled by a combination of reporters including Field Yates, Jeremy Fowler, Dan Graziano, Dianna Russini and Kimberley Martin.

Despite the split, Anderson has still been active on social media and has been posting regularly about George Floyd’s murder and all the unrest, outrage and other reactions it has caused in America.
