According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the next edition of HBO’s Hard Knocks will be a double feature of Los Angeles teams. If there is an NFL preseason, the LA Chargers and LA Rams will star in the upcoming season of the annual behind-the-scenes show.

This would be the first time Hard Knocks has featured a pair of teams on the show, but it would theoretically be relatively easy as both the Rams and Chargers are set to move into the under-construction SoFi Stadium this season.

Being able to embed in one city to shoot the show would make things easier on NFL Films and HBO, and both production companies believe it would “be special to figure out the creative for a ‘supersized’ series this summer,” a source told Schefter.

Hard Knocks is headed into its 16th season. Last season, the show followed the Raiders during their final preseason in Oakland. The Chargers have never appeared on the show. The Rams have done it recently and were featured in 2016 when Jeff Fisher was their coach.

That’s when the world found out LA quarterback Jared Goff, a rookie at the time, didn’t know which direction the sun rises from. Though being on the show helped Goff learn the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, he likely won’t welcome being back on Hard Knocks again based on what he said when asked if there was anything enjoyable about his first experience.

“No, zero. Not one thing,” Goff said on Barstool Radio. “And we were on it from – I was drafted in April, and as soon as we landed in L.A. it was like ‘Hard Knocks’ cameras. So you go through the whole offseason with it and we went through training camp – and the people are awesome, the NFL Films people are nice. There’s a camera in every room, you’re always looking around to see if it’s on, you’re always wondering if there’s a microphone under the table, you’re always on edge.”
