Players Vote Draymond Green and Russell Westbrook NBA's Most Overrated Players

Draymond Green and Russell Westbrook aren’t just two of the NBA’s most outspoken players, they’re also two of the league’s most overrated.

More accurately, according to a group of their peers, Westbrook and Green are the two most overrated players in The Association.

In an anonymous poll of nearly 130 players conducted by basketball writers from The Athletic, Westbrook and Green each received 17 percent of the vote.

“How fitting is this?,” The Athletic asked after the results. “Two of the league’s most divisive characters, these perennial All-Stars with fearless personalities who you either love or loathe, get to share this unflattering honor. As if Russ and Draymond needed any more bulletin board material to serve as fuel for their scorching-hot fires.”

Green and Westbrook were followed by Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns (all former teammates on an underachieving Minnesota Timberwolves team) with 6.3 percent of the vote.

Receiving 4.2 percent of the vote were James Harden, Ben Simmons, LeBron James, and Kyle Lowry followed by Semi Ojeleye, Kyrie Irving, Brook Lopez, Myles Turner, Luka Doncic, Hassan Whiteside, John Collins, Lonzo Ball, C.J. McCollum, Nikola Jokic, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul Millsap, Klay Thompson and Jayson Tatum with 2.1 percent

On the other end of the spectrum, 16.3 percent of respondents named Jrue Holiday as the NBA’s most underrated player.

Also receiving votes were Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Mike Conley, Bradley Beal, Kemba Walker, Lou Williams, C.J. McCollum, D’Angelo Russell, Malcolm Brogdon, Nikola Jokic, and Tobias Harris, among others.

As for the GOAT debate over Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James, it wasn’t close.

Seventy-three percent of respondents named Michael Jordan as the best player of all time compared to just 11.9 percent for LeBron James.
